Website Build, Content, SEO and Booking System for a Cape Town Youth Coaching Business
PROJECT OVERVIEW
IBIC Rugby Academy is a Cape Town-based youth rugby coaching service offering private and group sessions for young players at False Bay Rugby Club in Constantia. The business provides personalised one-on-one, small group, and group coaching across multiple session formats and durations, with a focus on individual player development, technical growth, and confidence on and off the field.
The project required a complete website build from the ground up, a clean, conversion-focused one-page design with a separate blog and a fully functional online booking system. Midway through the build, the site experienced a sophisticated server-level malware attack originating from a compromised hosting migration. Full security recovery, malware remediation, and GSC cleanup were carried out as part of the project scope before the site was launched.

Full WordPress and Elementor Pro build across a one-page home design with dedicated blog and booking pages. Content Strategy and Copywriting
End-to-end content creation for all pages, written to reflect the personal, community-driven character of the business while maintaining a professional standard appropriate for parents researching coaching for their child. Pricing page, booking page explainer, and full booking terms and conditions written and structured for clarity and legal protection.
Online Booking System
A multi-step booking form built using Royal Elementor Pro, covering all coaching formats, session durations, location selection, and client details across a clean three-step flow. Automated email notifications configured for both client confirmation and coach notification. Booking terms and conditions integrated into the form submission process with mandatory acceptance checkbox.
Monthly Subscription Offer
A limited-availability monthly subscription package, eight 30-minute sessions at a 35% discount on the standard per-session rate, added to the pricing section as a conversion-focused banner with visual direction and copy.
On-Page SEO Focus keyphrases, SEO title tags, and meta descriptions completed for all pages. Image alt tags applied across the site. Each page targets a distinct keyphrase relevant to youth rugby coaching in the Constantia and Southern Suburbs market.
GEO — Generative Engine Optimisation All pages and content structured for citation by AI-powered search platforms including Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity. Content authority signals and direct-answer formatting applied throughout.
Security Hardening and Malware Recovery Following a sophisticated malware attack originating from a compromised hosting migration, full security recovery was carried out — including identification and removal of multiple webshells, backdoors, and attacker-planted plugins across two sites on the same hosting account. A compromised .htaccess file containing an attacker whitelist was identified and replaced. A mu-plugins backdoor designed to survive standard cleanup was identified and removed. The site was restored from a clean backup, hardened with Wordfence, two-factor authentication, and file editing restrictions, and confirmed clean before launch.
Google Search Console Setup and Spam Remediation Site verified in GSC, XML sitemap submitted and confirmed. Following the malware attack, thousands of attacker-generated spam URLs were identified in GSC across both the IBIC and Lease IQ accounts. Robots.txt was updated to block spam URL patterns, sitemaps were regenerated and resubmitted, and GSC was monitored through the cleanup process to confirm spam URLs were clearing from the index.
OUTCOME
IBIC Rugby Academy launched with a complete, professional web presence — a clean one-page design, a fully functional multi-step booking system, and a content foundation built for the local Cape Town youth rugby market. The site is live at ibic.co.za, fully indexed in Google Search Console, and actively taking session bookings. Despite a significant security incident midway through the build, the project was completed without permanent data loss, with both sites on the hosting account fully recovered, hardened, and operational. The security recovery process identified multiple sophisticated attack vectors that had survived an initial host-level cleanup, demonstrating the value of a thorough and methodical approach to malware remediation.
